The safety and security of everyone who attends Blue Ridge is of great importance to us. While we know that we can’t prepare for every possible scenario, and that we are wholly reliant on the grace and mercy of God for our protection, we have taken the following steps to ensure that we are doing our due diligence in keeping our attendees safe:

  • Any ministry volunteer who will have contact with children has undergone a background check. No one with any relevant criminal history will be permitted to serve in children’s ministry. Whenever possible, children won’t be alone with an adult.
  • Once the service is underway, we lock all exterior doors to prevent unwanted access. If you show up late for whatever reason, we invite you to park around back and come to the door, where an usher will be there to let you in.
  • Every week, we have at least one member assigned to bring a weapon to church in the case of an armed intruder. These members have been properly trained, and are all permitted to conceal carry in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
